The new post office in Pass Christian re-opened in downtown Pass Christian this Monday. The post office is located at its pre-Katrina location at the corner of Davis Avenue and Ladnier Street.

Boaters - mark your calendars. The annual Blessing of the Fleet in the Pass Christian Harbor will be on Sunday, April 27.

& Other Board of Aldermen News…
At its regular Board of Aldermen meeting this week, the City heard a presentation by Kathleen Shaughnessy, AT&T Regional Manager for the Coast area.
Ms. Shaughnessy told the Board that AT&T is prepared to offer an Internet-Protocol-based television service for cities along the Gulf Coast. The service, called U-VERSE, will offer an alternative to cable, satellite and dish TV. Unlike satellite, U-VERSE will offer local channels. Continue reading »

A public hearing on a revised SmartCode map for east Pass Christian will be held on Friday, April 11. The only major change to the East Pass map is the creation of a new special district for Wal-Mart, said city planner Jeff Bounds. Dr. Bounds has worked with the superstore to develop the new map and said Wal-Mart has “cooperated enormously, so we got a very good site plan.” Most of the three back sides of the building will be wrapped with SmartCode buildings, so much of the truck traffic will be hidden from view.
“We feel like east Pass Christian is going to be an exciting plan,” he said.
